      Objective: Fill the grid with the digits 1 to 9 in each cell:
  •    Each 3x3 sub-grid must contain the digits 1 - 9 exactly once
  •    Each row must contain the digits 1 - 9 exactly once
  •    Each column must contain the digits 1 - 9 exactly once
      Game Controls
  • To Enter a Value
  •    Click on any piece on the on-screen keypad, and that piece will be placed on the board at the selected location
  •    Or press a number keys (1 to 9) to enter its value at the selected cell
  • To clear a value
  •    Press the space bar or the delete key
  • To Move Around
  •    Use the cursor keys to move the highlight box to any cell
  •    Or click on any cell with the mouse
      Keyboard Shortcuts
  • Spacebar - Clear a value
  • Delete - Clear a value
  • Cursor Up/Down/Left/Right - Move around
  • 1 - 9 - Place the digit on the board
  • N - New Game
  • S - Solve
  • R - Restart Game
  • K - Skin change
  • H - Get a Hint
  • Z - Undo
  • Y - Redo
  • Pageup / PageDown - Increase / Decrease number
  • Browser Forward Key / Browser Back Key - Increase / Decrease number
      Cheat!
  • Click on the "Cheat!" button to take a peek at the solution
  • This will help you figure out the game while you are still learning - or if you get really stuck!!
      Hint!
  • Click on the "Hint!" button to get a hint
  • JsiSudoku will point out one error (if you have any errors)
  • If you have no errors, it will show you one possible new move
      The Illegal Move "Oops" Indicator
  • "Oops" appears in the puzzle if you make an "illegal move" i.e. if you place a number in a row or column or 3x3 section that already contains that number
  • Note that not having an Oops does not mean the move you are making is the right one to solve the puzzle - that would make things too easy !
  • "Oops" simply helps you avoid obvious mistakes by pointing out illegal moves
      Undo / Redo
  • The Undo / Redo buttons help you retrace your moves
  • The buttons are disabled to begin with
  • But will light up when an Undo or a Redo is possible
      Changing Difficulty Levels
  • jsiSudoku has nine levels of difficulty
  • To choose a new level, use the "Level" menu item
      Changing Skins
  • Click the Skins button to change the look of the game
  • Click it again to cycle thru the choices
      Stay on Top
  • Click the thumb-pin button to make the game stay on top of all other windows
  • Click it again go back to normal window behaviour
      Transparent Board
  • Click the T button to make the game board transparent
  • Click it again go back
